Self-Discipline (1)

“There are a thousand excuses for failure
but never a good reason.”
—Mark Twain

Most people know the right thing to do, only a few actually do them. That’s what differentiates ‘us’ from ‘others’. I can give you principles upon principles, but without self-discipline they make no sense at all! Knowledge that is not put to use is still ignorance!

The extent to which you succeed in learning is a function of your commitment to your learning goal.

It is self-discipline that will make someone refuse to play until he/she has paid the price for success

I love what Brian Tracy says about successful people, he says successful don’t like the same things unsuccessful don’t like but they do them anyway!

For instance most of us don’t like ‘work’, as a matter of fact we all love the path of least resistance but whether we like it or not we have to work and smart must be thy work!

Learning is work, seriously! You can as well be doing other things with your time, but as a person of purpose and vision you are ready to pay the price for the prize.

Learning requires time, time which is contended for by other activities.

Never in the history of mankind has there been so much to do with so little time to do it, we have distractions here and there craving for our attention!

That’s why any learning  to be done has to be deliberate. You have to create the opportunities to learn! What's important right now? This is the kind of question you should be asking yourself constantly!

The Law of Alternatives states: ‘Doing something now, means NOT doing something else!’

So whatever you are doing right now (i.e. reading this) dismisses the possibility of the doing something else like sleeping, playing, ‘gisting’etc.

It’s time to stop postponing your learning and start now! Start now! No matter how small, take the first step! Come to think of it, you really don’t have any excuse! What’s holding you back sef?

Just think for a moment, “Is there anyone in the world today who has the same excuse and yet is still successful?” Yes of course!!! You will realize that there are hundreds, thousands if not millions of people who have the same excuse, if not worse and yet still successful. So wake up and take responsibility!!

Stay Tuned!!!
